EMFS, or Electro Magnetic Field System, is a revolutionary treatment for HIV.
EMFS uses electro magnetic waves to target four specific proteins in the HIV virus with the aim of disabling the virus and rendering it ineffective, so that cells stop dying and the immune system can regenerate.
The treatment was stopped in 2003. It was restarted again in Durban in July 2010 to begin and film a fresh group treatment, of four volunteers, sponsored by the UK charity Life Stride.
